Managing Principal

Steve Miano is a founding partner of PlanNet Consulting, which was established in 2001.  Under his guidance, the Southern California-based company has grown from a boutique start up to becoming a major player in Workplace Technology and Data Center Consulting, providing services to Fortune, global and mid-market clients worldwide.

Originally from Buffalo NY, Steve started his career with Ingram Software, now Ingram-Micro the largest computer distribution company in the world.  After relocating to Southern California, he held management positions with national and regional consulting and integration companies prior to establishing PlanNet.

Steve is passionate about giving to the community and supports numerous charities across Southern California.  He is currently on the board of the Ronald McDonald House of Los Angeles and previously served as a board member of the University of Southern California School of Architecture.

Principal, Director of Market Development

Bruce Muir is a Principal and serves as the Director of Market Development for PlanNet Consulting. He has been with the firm since 2001 and  brings over 28 years of experience from the Communications Technology Industry. He is responsible for overall business development for the firm as well as Principal oversight and project management for various clients. He has extensive expertise in all aspects of consulting, from project management to business development and operational management.

Prior to joining PlanNet, Bruce’s various management positions included Division Communications Head, Hughes Aircraft; Regional VP for COMSUL Ltd and Division VP for Superior Consultant Holdings Corporation.

He is well respected in the Southwest among the vendor, space planning, architectural and real estate communities.  Bruce remains a member of Society of Telecommunications Consultants.

Principal

June Bardwil is a Principal with the firm and has been a valuable contributor to PlanNet since 2002.  She is primarily responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships, and is actively involved in many high-profile projects.

June began her career in the technology industry after graduating from the University of Colorado.  She holds an outstanding track record of management, account development and technical consulting for Fortune 100 companies and national firms, as well as entrepreneurial organizations.

June is an enthusiastic personality in the architectural, engineering and real estate communities, and is a Past President and board member of the Southern California Development Forum (SCDF).

Principal, Director of Operations

Karl von der Linden is a Principal with the firm and serves as the Director of Operations managing PlanNet’s Building & Workplace Technology disciplines.  He has been with the firm since 2006 and brings over 20 years of experience from the Communications Technology and Construction Industries.  Karl possesses extensive knowledge of data center and critical facilities programming, project management, infrastructure design and construction.

Karl’s accomplishments include numerous large scale construction projects including data centers, operations centers, distribution centers, and institutional spaces and headquarters facilities.  He is an expert at integrating technology systems requirements with facilities design and has demonstrated this on projects ranging in scope and scale from ten thousand to nearly a million square feet in size.

Karl’s focus is on providing strong PlanNet consulting teams to support client and design team needs.  He remains a Registered Communications Distribution Designer and is an active member of  BICSI in supporting the information technology systems industry.

Principal Consultant, Project Manager

Darrell Gardner is a Consultant with the firm with nearly 30 years of demonstrated success driving, deploying and maintaining practical and enduring IT solutions, with a high degree of customer satisfaction, success and profit. As a former CTO, Director of IT and IT Infrastructure consultant, Darrell has significant experience in the transitional challenges of moving a data center and the applications that live there.

Some of Darrell’s notables include:

v  5 time Speaker at (AFCOM) Data Center World events (Data Center Health, Time Management, Process Management, DCIM)

v  Speaker at Fox Conference

v  Speaker /So. Cal User Groups (Server Security)

Currently Darrell manages Program level Data Center initiatives for PlanNet’s largest customers including Toyota Motor Sales and Financial Services, Herbalife, Reliance Steel, Ingram Micro and Broadcom.  Darrell is responsible for many things within PlanNet in addition to customer engagements.   He has provided PMO creation as well as Business Process improvements to our clients as well as created the Search Engine Marketing and Optimization implementation of PlanNet’s website.

Principal

Eric Lockwood is a Principal with the firm and manages PlanNet’s audiovisual practice.  He is a recognized leader in the audiovisual industry with over 17 years of audiovisual, acoustical and integrated technology consulting experience in the USA, Europe and South East Asia.  In addition to leading PlanNet’s audiovisual operations Eric is also responsible for business development, project management, technical design and Principal oversight.

A native of the United Kingdom, Eric moved to Southern California in 2000 and held senior management positions with several multi-disciplinary engineering and converged technology consulting firms prior to joining PlanNet in 2006.

Eric is extremely active in the technology and building design and construction communities.  He holds a Certified Technology Specialist accreditation with a specialization in systems Design (CTS-D) and is a Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP).  Eric is also a seasoned Board member of the Acoustical Society of America.

Principal, Director of Data Center Practice

Gary Davis a Principal with the firm and has lead the PlanNet Data Center Practice for more than five years.  He is an experienced IT professional with a wide reach of technology experience built from over 20 years of working within the Fortune 50 enterprise and technology consulting.

Gary is a high-impact professional with extensive background in the development and management of IT organizations, IT architecture, technology strategy/planning and data center solutions design, strategic sourcing, transition planning and operation.

His areas of expertise include Technology Strategy Enterprise Architecture, IT Services & Data Center sourcing, Organizational Assessment and Development, IT Effectiveness, Alignment & Optimization, and Enterprise IT Capacity Planning.

Gary directs and manages  the PlanNet Data Center and Communications  Technology practice  areas as well as a consults to PlanNet  clients and business partners.

Gary’s knowledge and experience in areas of IT tactical and strategic planning, IT effectiveness and critical facilities sourcing and delivery  have made the difference in  enabling  clients in meeting their technology  challenges.
